About Dave Vizard

Dave has over 30 years’ experience as a teacher and senior manager. He now provides training on Behaviour Management and Teaching and Learning to schools and colleges throughout the UK and abroad. For 2 years he held a Local Authority Advisory Post for Behaviour Management.

Dave has worked as an associate lecturer at the University of Plymouth for over 6 years. He has also provided ‘train the trainer’ training for the Learning and Skills Development Agency, and has spoken at many National Conferences including those for National Association of Special Educational Needs (NASEN); Social, Emotional and Behaviour Difficulties Association (SEBDA) and he also provides training for TSL Special Needs Conferences. He has provided Behaviour Management training for a major teaching union.

He is an affiliated Behaviour Management Consultant for Teach First and has inputted to their National Conferences.

He has written extensively on Behaviour Management and has 15 books published to date including ‘Meeting the Needs of Disaffected Students – Engaging Students with Social, Emotional and Behaviour Difficulties’, ‘How to Manage Behaviour in FE’ ,’Behaviour Solutions: A Guide to Syndromes and Conditions’, ‘Behaviour Solutions: A Guide to More Syndromes and Conditions’ and ‘Behaviour Solutions: A Guide to Further Syndromes and Conditions’. He has contributed a chapter to the USA publication ‘Amazing Grades’. His latest publication is ‘Mental Health:Supporting Children and Young People’.

Dave is Chair of the National Association for School Teaching Assistants (NASTA) and Editor of their magazine – Supporting Learning. Dave runs Behaviour Solutions, an Educational Consultancy which provides a practical and professional service in promoting positive behaviour management and looks to support schools and colleges in developing their own teaching and learning and behaviour management systems.
